NBA star Draymond Green, who won the NBA championship with his team, the Golden State Warriors, in June was on a vacation tour of Europe and the Middle East, when he made a stop in Israelto meet with President Reuven Rivlin.
Though NBA chamionship teams usually get a chance to meet the President at the White House, this year President Trump cancelled the event after players made expressed a lack of interest.
Instead Green got to meet with President Rivlin, who praised Golden State and accepted a jersey from Green.
“You’re an amazing team, and it was a true pleasure to watch you play,” Rivlin said, noting that he sometimes stays up late to watch the Warriors play despite the time difference. “I hope this will only be the first of many visits.”
