More than 200 gravestones in an Illinois cemetery were defaced with swastika graffiti, police told local media outlets Sunday.
Local police believe the incident at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Illinois was perpetrated as an act of vandalism but are also investigating whether it was a hate crime.
CNN reported that a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of his involvement in the incident.
