Sources indicate that a historic agreement between Eli Yishai and Aryeh Deri will have Yishai at the #1 slot of Shas, and neither will be chairman.
Earlier reports had stated that Deri would be the head of the Shas party’s list for the upcoming Knesset elections, while current chairman and Interior Minister Eli Yishai will keep the party’s most senior ministerial post. 
The new info suggests that as Deri makes a comeback into politics 12 years after he was jailed, Yishai and Deri will actually share leadership of the party equally, with Yishai positioned as the number one and Deri the number two on the Shas Knesset list.
Polls show that Shas, with Deri at its head, would gain popularity and could take several Knesset seats from Likud.
The Moroccan-born Deri, 53, served as interior minister for several years until 1993.
