Top aides to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas informed senior advisers to US President Donald Trump that Ramallah is ready to overhaul its controversial welfare program, which has included payments to terrorists convicted of attacks and to the families of those killed during such attacks, according to a Palestinian source and a Western diplomat who are familiar with the situation, The Times of Israel reports.
The revised policy would shift the basis for welfare payments to Palestinian security prisoners, determining the amount based on the individual’s financial need rather than the duration of their sentence, as is currently the case, the sources revealed to The Times of Israel, confirming a report by Channel 12.
The reform reached its final stages under the Biden administration, but the PA ultimately decided to delay its public announcement, choosing instead to present the plan as a goodwill gesture to the incoming Trump administration, according to both sources.
PA officials briefed their counterparts in the Trump administration about the proposal, but this occurred prior to Trump’s announcement of his plan to have the US take control of Gaza — a proposal that is likely to reignite tensions between Ramallah and the Trump administration, which had been strained during Trump’s first term.

Liars!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. There is no credibility to Abbas. Not him, not the PA or PLO. These animals glorify untruth.
2. This offer comes in a bargain form. The demand is that US rescind the Taylor act. That essentially rewards the PA. This exchange is so far from simple moral value that I would be alarmed to see anyone in Washington taking it seriously. The pay-for-slay is disgustingly immoral. The Taylor act was simply rational. The Palis need to provide a respectable track record of abolishing terror before America should even recognize them as anything other that a tribe of uncivilized, bloodthirsty animals.
