Today, September 27 (24 Elul) Is the Chofetz Chaim’s Yahrtzeit.
As the only organization devoted solely to spreading the Chofetz Chaim’s teachings on Ahavas Yisrael, CCHF’s programs are now the premier resource for children’s education in mitzvosbeinadaml’chaveiro in schools around the world. Our adult programs have positively affected communities and changed the lives of many for the past 28 years.
I am amazed by how many people still stop me in the street and say ‘Aren’t you guys only a tishabav video?’ ‘What else do you keep busy with throughout the whole year?’ Yes, I had the same question myself, until I was privy to a small glimpse into this amazing, non-stop organization. ‘Wowed’ would be the understatement of the year; I was completely blown away.
Here are some of the things I learned that we at the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation are currently accomplishing:
- Our programs reach 6 continents, 22 countries, 350 communities;More than 52,000 students in elementary and high school use our curricula; 430 schools participate in our educational program; 25,000 callers use our three hotlines daily; 420,000 books are in print; 18,000 learning emails go out daily; 50,000 attend our World-wide Tisha B’av Event.
No, we are not only a Tisha B’av Event organization.
The Chofetz Chaim knew that ShmirasHaloshon was the best protection for Klal Yisrael; only if we would have compassion for each other would Hashem have compassion on us. He devoted his life to teaching Klal Yisrael what Hashem wants from us, what the Torah demands of us, what we could do to merit protection and salvation.
At the urging of the Manchester Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Yehudah Zev Segal, zt’l, we at the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation took up this banner 28 years ago. We are the world’s only organization dedicated solely to this purpose, and year after year, it has taken its mission to new levels. As the years have passed, CCHF has initiated many ways of inspiring and teaching both young and old.
