Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., the clear frontrunner to replace Rep. Liz Cheney as House Republican Conference chairperson, Wednesday officially asked her GOP colleagues for their support for the seat and called for a “unified conservative vision” moving forward.

“Despite the media’s endless attempts to divide us, our members are united in our laser focus on defeating the radical Socialist Democrat agenda of President (Joe) Biden and Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi,” Stefanik wrote in her letter, which she posted on Twitter. “Our members believe that the stakes are far too high for us to be divided.”

She added that Republicans stand “shoulder-to-shoulder in believing that we have a historic opportunity to work as a team to win back the Majority in 2022 on behalf of the American people and save our great country.”

  1. While Stefanik received wide backing for the position, Representative Chip Roy (R., Texas) said on Tuesday that Stefanik’s voting record was not conservative enough to merit the position of Conference Chair.
“With all due respect to my friend, Elise Stefanik, let us contemplate the message Republican leadership is about to send by rushing to coronate a spokesperson whose voting record embodies much of what led to the 2018 *-kicking we received by Democrats,” Roy wrote in a memo to colleagues.

  3. Media once again has remarkable job twisting the whole narrative
Rather than because of her attitudes Visa V the former president Primarily but because of cultural values of Cheney and her family shouldn’t and don’t match the Republican party

  4. Not sure this broad is the right person for the job. Yeh, she was very outspoken in her defense of President Trump when the dems wasted milions of tax dollars on a fishing expedition impeachment hoax, but there is more to the Republican Party than a former President.
