Stephen A. Smith, known for his multimillion-dollar career discussing sports on ESPN, is now entertaining thoughts of a potential shift to politics. His interest was sparked by a recent poll showing him just one percentage point behind former Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz.
Although Smith’s 2 percent polling result may not seem noteworthy on the surface, coming so close to Walz’s 3 percent has made him wonder if a political career might actually be feasible.
During an episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith acknowledged that while a political run seems unlikely for him, the poor state of the Democratic Party has made him reconsider.
“I doubt I’ll ever run,” Smith admitted. “It’s not me. I live a pretty good life, and I don’t want to ruin it by getting involved in politics. But I got to tell ya something. The Democratic Party looks so pathetic. After this election, I might entertain one.”
He hinted at a possible change of heart, adding, “I just might change my mind one day. I doubt it, but I might. Because how much would it take to beat ya’ll. And Trump can’t run again. He’s done.”
The poll, conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, gauged voter sentiment on various potential Democratic candidates. While Smith appeared pleased with his 2 percent showing, he still trailed several prominent figures. Tim Walz remained just ahead of him at 3 percent, while former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg secured 9 percent. Leading the pack was former Vice President Kamala Harris, who garnered 33 percent.
Who?
They’re all “Who?”, why don’t give it a shot?
A person of no consequence.
Hes clearly unqualified
Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not already together with Walz, Harris and Newsom.
