Strike Expected Tomorrow in Israel

A general strike all over Israel is expected to go into effect tomorrow.

City workers across the country will be striking as a sign of protest against the recently approved annual state budget, which reduced funds for municipalities.

The heads of municipalities sent a joint letter to Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, Finance Minister Moshe Kachlon and Minister of Interior Aryeh Deri stating, “We will not allow such a budget cut of 250 million shekels. If the Finance Ministry won’t reverse the cuts, we will strike starting tomorrow, until further notice.”

Suspended services could include sanitation, landscaping and and school transportation.
