Almost 90 percent of COVID-19 patients who were placed on ventilators in New York’s largest hospital system have died from the coronavirus, according to a study.
Overall, 88 percent of the patients treated at Northwell Health died after receiving mechanical ventilation, Dr. Safiya Richardson at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and her colleagues found.
The findings also supported doctors’ conclusions that people who become severely ill with COVID-19 frequently have underlying medical issues.
More than half, or 57 percent, had high blood pressure, 41 percent were obese and 34 percent suffered from diabetes, according to the study.

I am certain that this article has been a big comfort for all of those whose fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, or sisters are currently on vents in critical condition and for whom they are davenning fervently for their recovery. Your concern for their peace-of-mind should be noted publicly. Definitely something out of the ordinary, and for good reason.
Reporting news for reporting sake, or for revenue, hits, or reviews, is not the target Matzav or any other Torah Jew news outlet should be aiming for.

The point is, don’t cause unnecessary panic and fear amongst the masses. This report was stating the medical reality. You can say the same thing about those that had a severe case of the Coronavirus and then miraculously recovered. Shhh, don’t say they recovered. That’s very insensitive to those that didn’t recover and died r”l. No one died BECAUSE of Coronavirus. They died because HKB”H decided that their time on this world had come to an end. Think about that.
They’ve been saying it several weeks ago that that ventilators are killing thousands, but nobody cares.
