U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice on Monday reiterated the Obama administration’s vocal opposition of “Israeli settlement activity,” but promised that the forthcoming new 10-year U.S. military aid package to Israel will be the largest in American history.

“Even in these days of belt-tightening, we are prepared to sign the single-largest military assistance package—with any country—in American history,” Rice said at the American Jewish Committee’s Global Forum in Washington, DC. She said the new 10-year aid package to Israel is expected to be in the area of $37.5-$40 billion, up from the expiring 10-year package of $31 billion.

“It would constitute a significant increase in support, and provide Israel the funding to update much of its fighter aircraft fleet, substantially enhance the mobility of its ground forces, and continue to strengthen its missile defense capabilities. That’s what we mean when we say Israel is not alone,” said Rice.

At the same time, Rice said that “as we mark the 49th anniversary this week of the Six-Day War, we continue to strongly oppose Israeli settlement activity. Just like every administration since 1967, Republican and Democratic. Just as we oppose counterproductive Palestinian actions and strongly condemn incitement and violence. Settlement activity corrodes the prospects for two states. It moves us toward a one-state reality. Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic state is at stake.”

  1. Can you please remind us, Susan, which video was it that caused 4 Americans to be slaughtered like sheep in Benghazi???

  2. Magic war against Israel. Give the nation and state money yet at the same time, despise the human right of protective and creative necessity building that must be done so that the jewish people have a home.

What are arabs doing in the Land of David? Clearly nothing productive.

This is a jam at Israel even though she has no alternative than to support the State as it must be kept safe.

So give no creed to anti-earned settlement variety. The settlements are just and they must be kept safe and created more as the years proceed.

This is not a place of liberty just to hang your mention for the sake of a bad day. Israel must have settlement rights in all of the places where The Bible discusses Israel was merited in its own borders.

Still, one knows Hashem is a Trusted G-d and that the settlements are likely not against Torah futures.

Working days for all jews will be with many friends.

    Shalom.

  3. Wow, so now Matzav is covering, even for this Anti Semite? Did Susan threaten you?
