Syrian rebel leader Ahmad al-Sharaa, widely known as Abu Mohammed al-Golani, has informed Reuters that his group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), is collaborating with global organizations to identify potential locations where chemical weapons could be stored.
The group had previously asserted that it would refrain from using such weapons under any circumstances.
In a written statement shared exclusively with Reuters by his office, al-Sharaa emphasizes that HTS is actively working to “dissolve the security forces of the previous regime and close the notorious prison,” a facility where the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime is believed to have detained tens of thousands of individuals.
He reiterates his commitment to establishing a government composed of technocrats. According to a statement from his group, the current transitional government is expected to remain in power until March 2025.
In response, the Pentagon has stated that while the US welcomes al-Golani’s remarks on securing potential chemical weapons sites, it also notes that “actions have to meet words as well.”

maybe i’m not smart enough to understand, but why in the world would anyone help him to safely store chemical weapons??? he might not use them today, but maybe tomorrow?
and a promise from a muslim to an infidel is null and void.
