President Donald Trump stated this evening that the deal for a ceasefire in Gaza, along with the agreement for the release of hostages, should be terminated if all hostages are not freed by noon on Shabbos.
“Let all hell break loose,” Trump declared to the press, emphasizing the severity of his stance, a warning he has repeated on multiple occasions, even before assuming the presidency.
“If all the Gaza hostages aren’t returned by Saturday at 12 p.m., I would say cancel the ceasefire. Let all hell break loose; Israel can override it,” he said.
His harsh words follow an announcement from Hamas that they would be postponing the release of hostages, thereby putting the ceasefire agreement at risk. Hamas said they were postponing the planned release of hostages set for February 15.
In response to the news, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu met with senior security officials, and the security cabinet is scheduled to gather later on Tuesday morning.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump also said he might withhold aid to Jordan and Egypt if they don’t take Palestinian refugees being relocated from Gaza.
