Senator Ted Cruz is raising sharp concerns over the developing agreement between the United States and Iran, warning that any deal allowing Tehran to retain nuclear ambitions while remaining under Islamist control would be a dangerous failure.

In a message posted on social media, Cruz said he was troubled by reports surrounding the negotiations and cautioned against concessions to the Iranian regime.

“I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran ‘deal,’ being pushed by some voices in the administration,” Cruz wrote.

The Texas Republican praised President Donald Trump’s military campaign against Iran, calling it one of the defining moments of Trump’s current term.

“President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results-including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy,” added Cruz.

Still, the senator warned that those battlefield gains could be squandered if Iran emerges financially strengthened and capable of rebuilding its nuclear infrastructure.

“If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime-still run by Islamists who chant ‘death to America’-now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake.”

Cruz also pointed to support for the agreement from former Biden administration adviser Robert Malley as a troubling signal.

“The details are still coming out-and I pray the early reports are wrong-but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging,” continued the Senator.

He closed by urging Trump to maintain a hard line against Tehran and continue enforcing the administration’s stated red lines.

“President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn,” concluded Cruz.

Cruz’s remarks came shortly after President Donald Trump announced that the final framework of a pending agreement with Iran could be unveiled soon.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump detailed a broad series of conversations with leaders across the Middle East and beyond regarding what he described as a regional peace understanding connected to Iran.

“I am in the Oval Office at the White House where we just had a very good call with President Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of The United Arab Emirates, Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, and Minister Ali al-Thawadi, of Qatar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, of Pakistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, of Türkiye, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, of Egypt, King Abdullah II, of Jordan, and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, of Bahrain, concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all things related to a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to PEACE.”

Trump added that negotiations are largely complete, pending final approval and additional discussions.

“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed. Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well.

“Final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly. In addition to many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

According to Reuters, the emerging proposal would unfold in three phases, beginning with an official conclusion to the conflict, followed by efforts to stabilize and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and then a 30-day negotiating period aimed at hammering out a broader agreement, with an option to extend the talks if needed.

A later report from the New York Times said the central pillar of the developing framework revolves around Iran’s nuclear program. Citing two U.S. officials, the report stated that Tehran would be required to surrender its stockpile of highly enriched uranium as part of the agreement — a condition Iran has reportedly agreed to accept.

  1. We all know that the entire Iranian structure has to be changed and the education system needs to be refocused and that no “deal” is going to help here. The understand force and getttibg hit with the stick. The only reason they have anything is because the worlds wants their oil otherwise they have little value to world growth. Let’s get the oil elsewhere and shut them down completely. Simple true answer.

  2. The Iranians are playing Trump. They are making him into a fool. They are delaying and delaying while they rebuild their drone and missile capabilities.
Unless Trump immediately reopens Hormuz while keeping it closed to Iran he loses this war. He needs to bomb and destroy the missile warehouses that have been rebuilt. He has to hit the ports on the Caspian sea. It can be done by proxy, officially being done by UAE or any other country, even if actually American forces do it while being sub-contracted.

  3. Ayatollah Khamenei speaking to his Supreme Council: Rabosai, Good afternoon. It is now clear to everyone that the Americans have been stupid, are currently stupid, and will always be stupid. We will agree to whatever Trump demands of us. Then, we will obediently implement Trump’s demands. The Americans are too stupid to realize that the Maga saga will not continue forever. In 2, 6, 10, 14, etc. years, one of those extreme, Trump-hating, liberal dingbats will be elected President. He/she will then undo all of Trump’s accomplishments. We will then completely rebuild our military, openly test a nuclear bomb that China will give us, and close the Strait of Hormuz again. No country or alliance will dare move against us when we have a nuclear weapon at the ready. We will gladly wait a few years to finally destroy Israel under the watchful eye of the next Democrat president. Idiots still wonder why Stalin had Russia and all of its vassal states vote in late November 1947 in favor of the UN’s Partition Plan for Palestine. Non idiots know that his brilliant plan was to establish a Jewish state, have all or virtually all the Jews move there, and then assist the Arabs in killing all the Jews in Palestine. Hitler’s “transportation to death” strategy was too clumsy. Stalin’s improvement was to transport all the Jews to their own country, and then have the Arab/Muslim world finish the job. Stalin’s plan failed, but ours will be successful. Five times a day, we should all pray for a Democratic Presidential victory in the US.
