Tefillin for Iranian Youths from Benny Teitelbaum and Gal Armon

Eight Iranian youngsters thanked journalist Benny Teitelbaum of Israel’s Channel 2 and sofer Gal Armon for sending them tefillin.

Written in Persian, their letter concluded with the Hebrew words, Amen, ken yehi ratzon.

“I was told there that there were eight boys in Iran who returned to Torah observance and simply had no tefillin,” Teitelbaum related. “They get up in the morning before school and shul, and put on one set of tefillin to fulfill this mitzvah. They asked if I could help and I happily took on the project.

“I got 20 sets of tefillin that needed to be checked and eight were kosher. We arranged for them to be sent and everyone was very happy and excited to help the youngsters.”
