Rav Shmuel Yaakov Borenstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Kiryas Melech in Bnei Brak, who was taken to Mayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center before Shabbos after feeling unwell, is in need of rachamei Shomayim.

The rosh yeshiva is present undergoing a complicated medical procedure and all are asked to daven for its success.

Rav Borenstein is in the intensive care unit, where he has undergone a series of tests and doctors are closely monitoring his health. Tests taken after he was first hospitalized showed that the rosh yeshiva suffered a mild heart attack and was suffering from pneumonia.

Rav Borenstein, 70, has been hospitalized several times in the past, including for chest pains and heart-related concerns, but, by the grace of Heaven, has recovered and resumed his full schedule of shiurim at his yeshiva, where his fellow rosh yeshiva is Rav Shlomo Kanievsky, son of Rav Chaim Kanievsky.

Rav Borenstein is a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah.

All are asked to daven for Rav Shmuel Yaakov ben Yehudis Tziviah, besoch she’ar cholei Yisroel.
