[COMMUNICATED]

Right now, a young pregnant mother is looking through her freezer. Her kids are asking her what is for dinner. Ever since her husband was admitted to the coronavirus ward, she hasn’t had the time to work, or the money for groceries. Her daughters pull at her skirt – they want meatballs or chicken like they used to have. They don’t understand. And she does everything she can so that they won’t understand.

This is a particularly challenging time for those struggling financially … Many are unemployed, or have been otherwise affected by the coronavirus.

Masbia LeKol Chai is an organization started in 1997 by Reb Netanel Snir with the goal of easing the burden of poverty. Every month, volunteers bring care packages of food & other essentials to poor families, when they need it most.

Unfortunately, Masbia is now facing its own financial hardships. There is a shortage of volunteers and funds to purchase the supplies.

Right now, a child is sitting on the steps of their building, dreaming of a bowl of cereal.

Right now,  a tired mother whose husband is in the hospital on the respirator is eating plain noodles for dinner … again.

Right now, a family who has no income due to layoffs can’t afford chicken for shabbos.

This is not theoretical – these are real stories happening now in towns all over Israel.

Volunteers at Masbia LeKol Chai hope that readers will consider donating to help them continue to distribute their care packages. Every donation helps.
