candle-small6It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Chana Rokeach a”h, wife of Rav Aharon Rokeach of Belz zt”l. She was 98 years old.

The Rebbetzin was born in Hungary in 1915. Her parents were Rav Yechiel Chaim Labin, the Makove Rebbe, and Rebbetzin Brochah Devoirah.

The Rebbetzin married Rav Yosef Meir Pollack of Beregsaz and had two children, Avrohom Alter and Bayla Chaya. After the petirah of Rav Yisroel Meir during Waorld War II, the Rebbetzin married the fourth Belzer Rebbe, Rav Aharon, in 1949. The Rebbetzin and Rav Aharon did not merit progeny together.

The Rebbetzin was an aunt of the current and fifth Belzer Rebbe, Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach, who is the only son of Rav Mordechai of Bilgoray zt”l and a son-in-law of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, Rav Moshe Hager zt”l.

The levaya was held last night first in Bnei Brak and then in Kiryas Belz in Yerushalayim, where she resided before her hospitalization as the end of her life as she battled illness. Kevurah took place on Har Hamenuchos.

Yehi zichrah boruch.

  1. “The Rebbetzin married Rav Yosef Meir Pollack of Beregsaz and had two children, Avrohom Alter and Bayla Chaya.”

Can someone please write in what happened to the two sons she had ( see above quote ).

  2. While visiting Yerushalayim in 1999, she took my hands in hers and gave me a bracha. I’m only now realizing what a awesome occurance that was. Rest In Peace, Holy Belzer Rebbitzen! THANK YOU!!!
