The doctors were amazed when Mrs. Schwartz told them that she was expecting her first child at age 44. But Boruch and Sara were even more amazed. Tens of specialists had told them that their situation was hopeless. But miraculously, after years of intensive infertility treatments, Sara gave birth to a baby girl. They named her Dina. But their luck took a turn for the worse when when Boruch became sick at the age of 65 and passed away.
“It was not easy at all,” accounts Mrs. Schwartz. “Yet somehow, we had to be strong and keep going,”
The widow found great comfort in recent times when Dina became a Kallah. Sara, though, is by no means capable of making a wedding. The woman is old and frail, and has such little money that she survives off of food from a local soup kitchen.
“Even when my husband died, I refused to accept financial help from anyone. But I am older now, and I can’t work. I can barely even walk anymore.Therefore I ask for help, not for my sake but for my daughter’s. Please help me finance the wedding so that she can get married with the dignity that every Bas Yisroel deserves.”’
