The police-detective son of former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik helped fatally shoot the cop-killing suspects in Tuesday’s Jersey City rampage, the NY Post reports.

Joseph Kerik, a Newark, NJ, officer and member of a federal task force, was among the officers who rolled down a street in the New Jersey city’s Greenville neighborhood in an armored truck as bullets flew, a well-placed source said.

The victims of the attack included 33-year-old Mrs. Leah Mindel Ferentz z”l of Jersey City, wife of Reb Moshe Dovid Ferentz, and a daughter of Reb Binyomin Hersh Greenfeld, and habochur Moshe Hersh Deutch z”l (picture above), 24, of Williamsburg, son of Reb Shalom Deutch and a cousin of Mrs. Ferenz.

A police truck smashed into the front of the bodega where the criminals were firing from — then Detective Kerik and two Jersey City cops jumped out and stormed the shop, shooting the suspects dead, said the source and a law-enforcement official.

Bernard Kerik – who headed the New York City Police Department under Mayor Giuliani in the late 1990s, early 2000s – told the NY Post he was “very proud’’ of his son, as well as the two other cops who killed the suspects.

But he said, “First, my thoughts and prayers go to Detective Seals’ family and his coworkers,’’ referring to the Jersey City officer, Joseph Seals, who fatally shot in the head by the criminals earlier.
