Mass shootings might often prompt cries of “never again,” but unfortunately that ship has already sailed. The Washington Post reports that this Memorial Day weekend alone has seen at least 11 mass shootings, defined by the Gun Violence Archive as incidents in which four or more people are shot or killed, not including the shooter. At least seven people were killed and 49 injured this weekend. In one incident, a 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman were killed at a Philadelphia party.

Guns are now the leading cause of death among young people in the U.S., and the number continues to steadily climb, NPR reports. Since the massacre at Uvalde, Texas’ Robb Elementary School that killed 19 children and two teachers last Tuesday, the U.S. has seen at least 14 mass shootings, which have killed at least 10 people and wounded 61 others, the Post reports. 1. Of course, the Compost, under the direct command of the white house, conveniently leave out the WEEKLY black on black slaughter that takes place in Chicago! It simply doesn’t fit the narrative. For shame.

    • And, therefore? Since there is black on black crime assault and military type weapons should be legal? Since there is black on black crime there should be no universal background checks? Since there is black on black crime law abiding citizens who want to be safe from mentally unstable people should just throw in the towel and let guns be rampant?

      • The percentage of Americans being killed by assault rifles is miniscule compared to blacks being murdered on a weekly basis. So, in other words, rifles is not the biggest concern right now. Black on black crime is. Put your efforts and laws to prevent the senseless killings in the black community front and center. President Biden has told us infinitum that he cares about black lives. Let him prove it.

I thought it takes a murderer to kill ppl!
I guess guns started shooting ppl on their own… Stop all AI before it is too late!

  3. its insane how many guns are available in America. of course, its only a part of many problems but restricting access to dangerous weapons would be a great start to curbing the pandemic of violence raging in this country. as yidden we are especially vulnerable to one antisemite who can chas vshalom do lots of harm. we should lobby to change the laws and support banning guns in my opinion

  4. The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the world.
    If you remove
    1) Chicago
    2) Detroit
    3) Washington, DC
    4) St. Louis
    5) New Orleans
the United States is then 189th out of 193 countries in the world.
By the way, all 5 cities have STRICT gun laws and are run by DemocRATs.
