Too many families in the holy city of Jerusalem are suffering. There is an alarming amount of financial and medical cases which cannot be resolved on their own. The righteous families in Jerusalem need help.
Vaad HaRabbanim is an incredibly special organization that has accepted the important task of rebuilding the nation and providing help to the families who need it most. Their mission is to “raise a poor person from the ground”. The more resources they can afford, the more lives they can save. Due to the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in individuals and families who now need immediate assistance.
As we are ensconced in the mourning period of the three weeks, we must focus on our own opportunities to repent for the sins of this generation and past. The gemara in Sanhedrin teaches that Yerushalayim will only be redeemed through tzedaka, as the pasuk says Yeshayahu (1:27) “Zion will be redeemed through judgment and its captives through tzedaka”.
HaRav Binyamin “HaTzadik” Finkel, one of the Mir Roshei Yeshiva, staunchly endorses Vaad HaRabbanim.
