Nearly half of the nation’s new COVID-19 cases are concentrated in just five states — including New York, which had the highest number of new infections across the country last week, data show.
Together, New York, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey accounted for 44 percent of all new infections between March 29 and April 4 with about 197,500 cases out of around 452,000 seen nationwide, data from John Hopkins University show.

Florida’s cases are mostly NY and NJ people who came down for a vacation or an escape. NY, NJ, PA, MI have gone all-out fascist, with heavy-handed shutdowns and mandatory muzzling, yet they still have the highest cases, which tells you that surgical masks don’t prevent anything. Only an idiot would carry water in a sieve, and only an idiot would try to stop microscopic virus particles with a surgical mask that has tiny openings ten times larger than a virus particle. Even a more effective N95 respirator is useless if not properly fitted without any openings on the sides and top of the nose. But the idiot award goes to the partial shutdowns reducing the store hours, ostensibly to reduce covid transmission, which if anything does exactly the opposite, since the shoppers are more concentrated than they would have been had the store had normal longer hours. Basically, the fascist socialist-fascist D’Rats are so cynical that they make Machiavelli blush. They use this covid as an excuse to grab complete dictatorial control, and in the process their so-called anti covid measures result only in more covid fatalities.
