[COMMUNICATED]

Gila Eisenbach sat at the dimly lit dining room table with her husband, conversing with him in hushed tones. They had just deposited their monthly paychecks from work, yet their bank account was somehow in the minus. And not by just a few shekalim.

“We had to buy extra groceries this month, Shmuel Tzvi,” Gila said. “It’s the Yamim Tovim. That’s just what happens every year. But…”

Her voice broke. She looked up at her husband’s kind, caring face. Then back down at the bank statement.

“What in the world are we going to do about Chani?”

Shmuel Tzvi buried his face into his wrinkled hands as his wife Gila broke down into sobs.

Over a year prior, Shmuel Tzvi and Gila’s eighteen-year-old Chani Eisenbach was unexpectedly diagnosed with bone cancer. By now, the cancer has spread to her lungs and it spreads at a dangerous rate with every passing day. Doctors are urging Gila and Shmuel Tzvi to fly her to Budapest where a famous oncologist can save her, but the treatment and flights are beyond what the family can possibly afford. With every passing day, she grows weaker, and the excruciating pain she must endure intensifies further.

“I am never one to ask for help, but right now, I am talking about my daughter’s life,” wrote Gila on a crowdfunding page.

“It feels like just yesterday that Chani was a spunky teenage girl, talking and laughing with her friends, not a care in the world. Now, she cries in bed most of the day from the severe pain, from exhaustion, from worry. She is such a sweet girl. Please, please help us. She is only eighteen. She has her whole life ahead of her. Without you, her life will be cut off short chas v’shalom. You, reading this now, are mamish her only hope left.”

Unfortunately, Chani’s life depends on the one thing her parents don’t have: Money. To help Chani Eisenbach when her parents can’t, click here.
