Only two days remain until Tu Ba’Av, The Mishnah tells us that “no days were as festive for Israel as the 15th of Av and Yom Kippur.” (Ta’anis)
While the significance of the day is complex and multi-faceted, it is most simply and generally referred to as a Jewish day of love & soulmates. Each year on this day, those longing to find their soulmate pray emphatically for the opportunity to build a bayis ne’eman b’yisroel. One of the most world-famous sites to pray for one’s zivug is Amukah, the tomb of Rabbi Yonasan ben Uziel.
This year, in keeping with the traditions of Amukah and Tu B’Av, a massive prayer gathering will take place. 300 avreichim associated with Kollel Rina Shel Torah, together with a group of the most revered rabbanim in Israel, will gather to pray at Amukah for the soul mates and general yeshuos of an exclusive list of donors. Rabbanim involved include Rav Tzvi Yehuda Edelstein, Rav Shraga Noach Shteinman, Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir Rav Binyamin Finkel, and the kollel’s own Rosh Yeshiva Rav Mordechai Lieber HaLevi Cohen.
Powerful footage of the avreichim, jammed tightly into every available inch of the kever, shows them engrossed in fervent prayer.
Money collected goes toward the kollel’s expenses. Those interested in participating in not only this particular event, but also having a portion in the year-round learning of the yeshiva, can donate here for the next two days only.
