Additionally, an IDF soldier sustained serious injuries during the conflict in the northern Gaza Strip. The soldier was transported to a medical facility.

In a statement released on Sunday, the IDF reported that, based on intelligence from the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), an IDF fighter jet executed a targeted strike that resulted in the death of Haitham Khuwajari, the Commander of Hamas’ Shati Battalion. Khuwajari played a pivotal role in orchestrating Hamas attacks on Israeli territory on October 7th, coinciding with the invasion and violence in southern Israel. Khuwajari was known for overseeing Hamas terrorist operations at Shifa Hospital and commanding Hamas forces engaged in combat against IDF soldiers in the Shati area.

  1. Ben Zussman is from an American-Israeli family. His grandparents made Aliyah from Denver. His great-grandparents were pillars of the Denver Orthodox community, and the Zussman family is still very active in the Denver Jewish community.
