Tom Homan: Ocasio-Cortez ‘Dumbest Congresswoman Ever’

Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, strongly criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., after she suggested that he was illiterate. He called her the “dumbest congresswoman ever” for her actions in trying to teach criminal aliens how to avoid arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“She’s the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress, and she proves that every day,” Homan said during a segment on Newsmax’s “Finnerty” on Monday night. “I just can’t fathom any member of Congress — whether Republican, Democrat, or independent — wanting to help criminal illegal aliens evade arrest, particularly those who have been convicted of violent crimes and ordered to leave the country by a judge.”

Homan went on to explain, “After the extensive legal processes at the expense of taxpayers, it’s shocking that a congressperson would prevent ICE from doing its job, a task Congress has specifically assigned and funded.”

He further criticized Ocasio-Cortez for opposing ICE’s role in enforcing the laws enacted by Congress, saying, “She doesn’t want ICE to carry out the laws that Congress has passed.”

In response to Ocasio-Cortez’s comments suggesting that Homan needs to understand the Constitution better, Homan reiterated that he is fully versed in immigration law. Speaking to host Rob Finnerty, he emphasized that his duty is to enforce the law, regardless of Ocasio-Cortez’s objections on behalf of lawbreakers.

“What the hell is Congress doing?” Homan asked. “There are far more productive ways they could be spending their time than passing laws they don’t want us to enforce.”

He continued, “From Day 1, President Trump and I have been clear: Our focus is on public safety and national security threats.”

Homan also criticized Ocasio-Cortez’s efforts to hold “webinars” to teach criminal aliens how to evade his deportation efforts.

“She can call it education or constitutional rights all she wants, but we all know what she’s really doing,” Homan said. “She’s essentially telling people how to avoid enforcement, how to evade ICE — and these are the most dangerous illegal aliens, getting a heads-up.” He added, “And I’ll say it again: I hope she’s not teaching the next murderer of a college nursing student or the next criminal who will burn a woman alive on a subway.”

“My concern is real,” Homan emphasized.

Homan warned Ocasio-Cortez and leaders of Democrat-run sanctuary cities that harboring criminal illegal aliens is a felony.

“I’ve said from the start: If a sanctuary city crosses the line by knowingly harboring illegal aliens or obstructing ICE from doing its job, I will push for criminal prosecution,” he stated. “We have a strong attorney general, Pam Bondi, who will hold these people accountable. She’s already started, and she’s not done yet.”

Homan concluded, “If they don’t want to help us, they should step aside. We’ll handle it ourselves. I can’t understand why any elected official, including her, wouldn’t want to remove public safety threats from their communities. That’s the first and foremost responsibility of those in office: protecting their communities.”

“If she doesn’t want to do it, the Trump administration will,” Homan declared.
