In conjunction with the annual Lakewood Asifa for P’eylim / Lev L’Achim tonight –Tuesday, June 7th– at Bais Faiga, the community will have the rare opportunity to see and hear Rav Chaim Kanievsky up close and in real time. Rav Chaim will be joined by his illustrious brother-in-law, Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein, Mara D’Asra of Ramat Elchonon and author of many popular seforim.

Rav Zilberstein wil be posing halachic questions from his file of interesting queries which have popped up in the field work of Lev L’Achim’s thousands of workers. In past years the audience in Lakewood were spellbound by the immediate response Rav Chaim supplied to each and every question drawing on obscure sources from all of Shas and the sifrei haposkim.

Also on the program tonight will be the famed Rav Uri Zohar, acknowledged as the leader of the Israeli Teshuva Movement. The legendary Rav Zohar has of late written a book on the subject of kids-at-risk and will share his insights on this most pressing of issues on the community agenda.

Divrei Pesicha will be delivered by the Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler, who stands at the helm of the Lakewood campaign for P’eylim / Lev L’Achim in continuation of the legacy of his forebears the Roshei Yeshiva of Lakewood, Rav Aharon Kotler zt’l and Rav Shneur Kotler zt’l.

Rav Eliezer Sorotzkin, Director-General of both Lev L’Achim and Chinuch Atzmai will deliver a report from the front lines of the joint efforts to provide every Jewish child in Israel with a Torah education.

The program will begin with Maariv at 9:45. To accommodate the large crowd, shuttle buses will be running up and down Clifton Avenue between Bais Faiga and the parking lots at the Chemed Center, the old ballfield of 9th and the old Cheder playground on 10th. The tzibur is urged to park in these outlying areas and not attempt to park at or around the hall where the traffic will be heavy.
