Tonight: Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov-Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi Dinner in Chicago

yeshiva-tiferes-tzviJoan Dachs Bais Yaakov-Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi  in Chicago will be holding its 51st Anniversary Dinner tonight at the Westin OHare in Chicago. Hundreds of supporters, alumni and friends are expected to participate at the dinner, which will pay tribute to a number of the community’s distinguished families, who have contributed to the growth and development of the frum community of Chicago.

The school will honor Rabbi and Mrs. Avrohom Shimon Moller, Partners in Chinuch awardees. Rabbi Moller was the mashgiach at YTT for a number of years until recently moving on to become Superintendent of Education at Associated Talmud Torahs (ATT) in Chicago. ATT is an umbrella organization for all frum day schools in Chicago.

The school will also honor Mr. and Mrs. Yehoshua Ray, Machzekei Torah awardees. Shua comes from a long line of builders and supporters of Chicago chinuch. His grandfather, Mr. Emmanuel (Mordechai) Ray z”l, was a founder of Arie Crown Hebrew Day School, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Ray, have served on the board of ACHDS and other mosdos haTorah in Chicago for decades. Shua has recently taken a very active role in the community, as a member of the board at JDBY/YTT and as president of the recently formed Madreigos Midwest.

The school will also honor four distinguished alumni from over the more than 5 decades of its history. They are Rav Yisroel Menachem Levin of Detroit, Rabbi Avrohom Cohen of Lakewood, Mrs. Chani Belsky (Lichtshein) of Chicago, and Mrs. Ahuva Weinreb (Davis) of Baltimore.
