Torture Didn’t Aid Bin Laden Hunt

bin-laden2According to individuals familiar with the Senate’s unreleased  torture report, it concludes that waterboarding and other harsh interrogation techniques revealed no key evidence during the search for Osama bin Laden-something the CIA disputes.

According to the report, the simulated drownings, sleep deprivation, as well as other methods were not only cruel, they were ineffective.

The most famous detainee, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was waterboarded 183 times by the CIA, but the report says he did not turn over valuable information until he was in standard interrogation.

In the aftermath of bin Laden’s death, former Bush administration officials as well as top CIA figures pointed to it as justification for “enhanced interrogation techniques.” Read more at ABC News.
