Toyota, Mazda to Build $1.6B Factory in the U.S.

Mazda and Toyota say they intend to build a $1.6 billion manufacturing plant in the U.S., changing an initial plan to build it in Mexico. The project would create as many as 4,000 jobs and be in operation by 2021. It’s not yet clear where the facility, which will produce new models for the U.S. market, would be built.

President Trump applauded the plan Friday morning, tweeting: “Toyota & Mazda to build a new $1.6B plant here in the U.S.A. and create 4K new American jobs. A great investment in American manufacturing!” Read more at CNN.
