  1. “The driver of the vehicle apparently did not know he had struck the children” As soon as the driver was notified, the vehicle returned to the scene.”

Hmm you just struck down a child and you do NOT know…?!

    • A small child standing in front of a school bus or large vehicle can be invisible to the driver. A five year old in front of a minivan? Absolutely. He/she could have thought that he had hit a pothole.

This is why children must never cross in front of a school bus. And I always have my youngest walk right alongside me in parking lots, for visibility.

  2. May Hashem comfort the family.
The family should merit to hear lots of good news.
Hashem should bentsch the family together with the rest of Klal Yisroel with very good health.
Hashem should send a very quick recovery to the boy who got injured.

    • Boruch Dayan haEmes. May the family find nechama. May H’ always communicate with Am Yisroel with visible nachas, without any biter medicines.
Dear Mutt, “not the time for safety lectures” you say?! Actually, now is exactly the time, as now is the time when the contemporary attention deficit disorder population concentrates just enough to listen. The goal is to histadel in order to prevent any such occurrences in the future with 2 simple methods: 1) don’t drive faster than 5ph when in a parking lot with kids walking between cars, and be super paranoid about looking into every mirror and camera possible before gently pressing the gas pedal; 2) always hold a young kid’s hand when crossing a street, in front of a driveway, parking lot, or any area that the cars are present. Don’t let your kids walk by themselves until they are tall enough to be visible, and are completely trained in the safety techniques.
