It is with tremendous sadness that we report the tragic petirah of habochur Avrohom Tzvi Galinsky, an 18-year-old talmid of Yeshiva Kol Torah. He was a son of Rav Elimelech Galinsky, R”M at Yeshiva Lemaan Daas, and a grandson of the senior maggid, Rav Yaakov Galinsky.
Avrohom Tzvi, a resident of RAmot, was with several other bochurim who were on a trip in Yerushalayim when the group noticed that he was missing.
After a short search, the bochurim decided not to take any risks and alerted rescue officials. A a lengthy search, a volunteer rescue squad located Avrohom Tzvi at the bottom of Nachal Pras, or Wadi Qelt, having drowned. It is not clear how he had fallen into the water.
The deputy commander of the rescue unit related that at about 4:15, they were notified by police of a group of yeshiva bochurim hiking who had reported that their friend was missing. At around 6 p.m., one of the volunteers reported that he had located the missing bochur. A doctor arrived at the scene and confirmed the petirah.
The levaya is currently being held at the Shamgar chapel in Yerushalayim.
Umacha Hashem dimah mei’al kol ponim.
