NJ – The city of Trenton reportedly has resolved a messy budget standoff that threatened to wipe out the government’s toilet paper supply.
The city had been at a standoff over a proposed $42,000 contract for paper supplies. Without an imminent replenishment, city offices were watching their toilet paper and paper towel stock draw dangerously low.
But Trenton Mayor Tony Mack’s office announced Tuesday that the city would make an emergency purchase of toilet paper and other supplies, MyFoxPhilly.com reported.
And two outside organizations, including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, have stepped in to help Trenton avoid another TP crisis.
Mack announced Tuesday that the city will accept an offer from PETA for a six-month supply of toilet paper.
The only catch is the toilet paper will be emblazoned with a pro-vegan message.
According to the original letter from PETA to Mack, the toilet paper rolls will read:
“Slaughterhouses are so filthy that more than half of all meat is contaminated with fecal bacteria. Wipe cruelty from your diet. Go vegan. PETA.”
Mack said in his statement that PETA’s “generous gift will be used by Trentonians from all walks of life.”
The city also accepted a new set of hand dryers from vacuum cleaner company Dyson, meant to help the city cut down on paper towels.

PETA has found its rightful place in society. They should focus on distributing toilet paper with their credo on it and it should be used appropriately.
