Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she will be meeting with President Trump at the White House this coming Friday, according to a statement she made to the press on Thursday.
The meeting is expected to cover various issues, with one likely focus being Trump’s efforts to eliminate the congestion pricing initiative. This will be the second meeting between Hochul and Trump, following their previous discussion in the Oval Office last month.
“Now there will be a little disruption,” Trump continued.
This meeting occurs just days after Hochul criticized Trump over his ongoing tariff dispute with Canada, which led to Ontario imposing a temporary 25% surcharge on energy exports to certain U.S. states earlier this week.
“We’ve been ripped off as a country for many, many years,” Trump told reporters this morning, refusing to back down on his tariffs. “Why should we subsidize another country for $200 billion?”
