President Donald Trump attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an interview that aired Thursday night as “a nasty, vindictive, horrible person” in his first public comments since reports that she told colleagues she would like to see him in prison rather than impeached.

“I think she’s a disgrace,” Trump said on Fox News. “I actually don’t think she’s a talented person. I’ve tried to be nice to her because I would have liked to have gotten some deals done. She’s incapable of doing deals. She’s a nasty, vindictive, horrible person.”

The interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham was conducted at the site of a solemn ceremony in France commemorating the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Against the backdrop of a cemetery where nearly 10,000 American war dead are buried, Trump also called Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., a “jerk” and former special counsel Robert Mueller a “fool.”

Trump’s tirade about Pelosi, D-Calif., came in response to a question about comments she made during a meeting Tuesday night with five of her committee chairmen. Trying to tamp down impeachment talk about Trump, Pelosi said she would rather “see him in prison” after leaving office, according to two Democratic officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share private conversations.

Calls for impeachment have been growing among Democrats, who have seized on episodes of possible obstruction of justice by Trump detailed in Mueller’s report about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump, who until recently had largely avoided criticizing Pelosi, called her “Nervous Nancy” in the interview with Ingraham.

“Nancy Pelosi’s a disaster,” he said. “OK, she’s a disaster.”

Trump went on to say that Pelosi should be focused on the conditions of her home city of San Francisco.

“It’s the most disgusting thing, what she’s allowed to happen to her district, with needles, with drug addicts, with people living in the middle of streets, with people living on the sidewalk,” he said.

The interview was recorded before Thursday morning’s ceremony in France that paid tribute to troops who stormed Normandy’s beaches 75 years ago in an invasion of Nazi-occupied France that helped turn the tide of World War II. The interview aired in full on Thursday night.

Pelosi, who attended the ceremony, declined to respond to an excerpt in which Trump branded her “a disaster.” During a brief interview, she said she would rather not criticize Trump while she is out of the country, according to a tweet by a CNN correspondent.

Trump mentioned Schumer as he voiced frustration in the interview about undocumented immigrants coming into the United States through Mexico. The president contended, as he frequently does, that Congress is not willing to help him address the problem.

“We have crying Chuck Schumer, who’s a disaster by the way,” Trump said. “He’s a total political, you know, jerk.”

Trump said that Mueller had made “such a fool out of himself” last week when he delivered a public statement regarding his investigation.

  1. Wow! The “Lock her up” crew can’t take it when it’s a republican.
    You reap what you sow.

Not a single person from Clinton’s campaign is in jail.
How many from Trump’s campaign and administration are already in Jail or on their way? So many.
Stop living in the fox news republican propaganda machine universe.

    • To “lock them up” I think there is a reason republicans get locked up and democrats don’t and it is because we don’t play dirty like the dems who use their power to destroy their opponents something republicans haven’t done

  2. Mrs. Plastic is only in Congress because of her gerrymandered district to make sure she has a lifetime position.

  3. The President is being way to kind to her
She is much worse than that
A one-issue lady that couldn’t care about her country, just to see “Trump in jail”
That’s the best the Democraps have to offer? Stay away from them

  4. Pelosi tells Dems she wants to see Trump ‘in prison’ – POLITICO

    Fellow Conservative

Speaker Nancy Pelosi just told House Democrats she wants to see President Trump in PRISON.

Democrats cheered on outlandish Russia conspiracy theories for two years, but the Mueller Report found NO COLLUSION. Of course, that won’t stop Pelosi from pandering to her extreme base and raising MILLIONS to defeat us.

Can you imagine if the unhinged Left controlled the Senate?

    Dear Fellow Conservative,

As U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, I frequently faced off against socialist regimes from places like Venezuela and Cuba.

    It’s a brutal picture…
Empty supermarket shelves. Starving children and families. Filthy hospitals without basics like aspirin or toilet paper. In Cuba, 3,856 building collapses over a 13-year period. In Venezuela, worthless currency and crippling inflation.

We can’t back away from the fight.
Socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried.
I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Join us in making our voices loud and clear by contributing today to make sure these scenes are never repeated here.

    Our message is simple:
The American people do not support socialism, do not want socialism, and are not falling for socialism whether it’s deceptively marked as a “Green New Deal” or “Free College” or “Medicare for All.”

The American people reject socialism and deserve to be informed with the truth about where their representatives really stand.

  6. This “group” has already done more for this country then she EVER will…

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., continued attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Thursday, claiming that it was “un-American” for the agency to detain immigrants suspected of violating the law.

“It’s un-American to criminalize immigrants for wanting to come to this country for a better life. This is why ICE to be defunded,” she tweeted.

She was responding to a report that ICE requested additional space for housing detainees in her home state of Minnesota. According to MPR News, Shelbourne County proposed meeting ICE’s request by expanding its jail so that it could house 500 immigrant detainees.

About three-fourths of ICE detainees in 2018 had previous criminal convictions, MPR News reported. While ICE generally focuses on detaining immigrants with criminal histories, the agency arrests other illegal immigrants as well.

ICE did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The latest attack on the agency came after Acting ICE Director Mark Morgan told Fox News on Wednesday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s push for abolition was “absolutely irresponsible.”

“Last year alone 34,000 criminal arrests, 5,000 gang members arrested. Thousands of cases of child smuggling exploitation, human trafficking,” he said.

In 2018, ICE announced that it raided businesses in Nebraska and Minnesota, resulting in 133 arrests for immigration violations.

Omar, who has called for ICE’s abolition, posted that tweet at a time when the United States faced a “full-blown emergency” at the border and authorities struggled to house the massive influx of migrants. Her comments prompted plenty of pushback online.

Under President Trump’s administration, Democrats vehemently denounced the immigration enforcement agency while some, like Omar, called for its abolition.

Omar previously called for a freeze in spending for the Homeland Security Department, which leads ICE and, in May, reiterated her call to abolish the agency.

“So what are we asking for? What we are asking for is very simple. We need to make sure that we cut, and not put increases on spending on detention facilities. We need to stop using DHS as a slush fund,” she said.

“We need to abolish ICE and end all inhumane deportation and detention programs. We need to fight back against the criminalization of immigrants and those crossing the border. We need to create a fair and accessible path to legal status and citizenship for all undocumented people in the United States.”
