Top advisers from former President Trump’s campaign swiftly criticized Vice President Harris after President Biden announced his withdrawal from the race and endorsed her as his replacement.
In a statement, Trump campaign advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles claimed Harris would be “even worse” than Biden, calling her his “enabler in chief.”
The email was sent immediately after Biden’s endorsement of Harris, adding uncertainty to the election.
“They own each other’s records, and there is no distance between the two,” the Trump campaign stated. “Harris must defend the failed Biden Administration AND her liberal, weak-on-crime record in [California].”
The letter also criticized Biden’s decision to step down, arguing he “could not” withdraw from the presidential race and remain in the White House.
LaCivita and Wiles further claimed that “Biden is a national security threat in great cognitive decline and a clear and present danger to every man, woman, and child in our country.”
“The question then to Kamala Harris is simple: knowing that Joe Biden withdrew from the campaign because of his rapidly deteriorating condition, does Harris believe the people of America are safe and secure with Joe Biden in the White House for six more months?” they asked in the email.
At 81, Biden is the oldest sitting U.S. president, facing significant criticism over his age and fitness for office.
Trump’s statement came shortly after Biden’s announcement, with Trump warning the nation would “suffer greatly” due to Biden’s single term in office.
“Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was!” Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social.
Republicans gathering in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention had already begun attacking Harris, signaling their strategy if she were to replace Biden.
Harris stated on Sunday her intention to earn and win the Democratic presidential nomination following Biden’s withdrawal and endorsement of her.

If you say Harris is worse, we’d love to watch the show.
