President Donald Trump visited Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, supporting reponders in a city rocked by civil unrest and announcing the federal government would provide $42 million to support public safety and law enforcement in Wisconsin.
“To stop the political violence, we must also confront the radical ideology,” Trump said. “We have to condemn the dangerous anti-police rhetoric.”
The president pledged to provide $1 million in federal support to Kenosha law enforcement, $4 million to small businesses, and $42 million to public safety statewide, contrasting that with leftist calls to “defund the police.”
“I’m committed to helping Kenosha rebuild,” Trump said.
