In a recent poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College, it was revealed that former President Donald Trump enjoys a significant lead of 37 percentage points over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the GOP presidential race. The survey, released on Monday, showed strong support for Trump, with 54 percent of likely voters favoring him. On the other hand, DeSantis lagged far behind with only 17 percent. Former Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley each obtained three percent of the support.

These findings highlight Trump’s firm hold on the Republican electorate, despite facing numerous legal challenges and accusations. It also underscores the challenging position DeSantis finds himself in, as he has been viewed for months as Trump’s most formidable competitor, requiring a campaign shakeup to gain ground.

When questioned by a POLITICO reporter on how he plans to counter Trump’s popularity, DeSantis suggested that the former president’s use of juvenile insults has actually helped boost his own popularity. He believes that such behavior reminds voters why many millions will not support Trump in the future.

Trump’s dominance in the poll was evident across various demographics within the GOP electorate. He led in favorability among men and women, younger and older voters, college-educated and non-college-educated individuals, moderates and conservatives, as well as in both urban and rural/suburban areas.

The poll surveyed 1,329 registered voters nationwide from July 23 to 27, including an oversample of 818 registered Republican voters. The margin of error for registered voters is plus or minus 3.67 percentage points, and for likely voters in the Republican primary, it is plus or minus 3.96 percentage points.

  1. Desantis is a culprit.

Donald did so much for him and he could have waited to run.

Desantis is black weight on a higher picture of good.

  2. Can he win the general election? I think not. As corrupt and as aged as Biden is, WOKE America and many others will see him as the preferred choice! I shudder to think how a Harris presidency will pan out. Forget about Israel.

    • You don’t need to be an Einstein to know that if he and the candidates running against trump have less than 10% of the votes, can he win the general election?

WHEN Biden goes, Harris goes as it’s the end of the live theater.

    • Why? Because mainstream deep state brainwashed you? How naive! If you’d have some understanding and brains, you’d actually pray for him. Do you know that he saved your life and the lives of your children and the entire world with what he’d doing? What do you think he’s being doing for the last 6 years since he came to office in 2017? Why do you think they installed a fake President? Do you expect the deep state mouthpiece mainstream media to tell you the truth.
