President Trump on Tuesday said his remarks to supporters just before they stormed the Capitol last week were “totally appropriate,” even as they have become the basis for articles of impeachment.

“They’ve analyzed my speech and my words and my final paragraph, my final sentence, and everybody to the T thought it was totally appropriate,” Trump told reporters as he departed Joint Base Andrews to visit the border with Mexico.

The president has yet to acknowledge his own role in the violence last Wednesday at the Capitol, where pro-Trump rioters clashed with law enforcement and broke into the building. The ensuing mayhem led to multiple deaths, including that of one Capitol Police officer.

  1. Trump is going to get slammed now for “showing no remorse” .

I don’t see his speech as inciting violence but Siyug L’Chochma Shtika!!!

There is NOTHING that he can say or do now that won’t be held against him. He should just answer reporters with “I’d love to discuss my remarks but as you know I’m facing an unwarranted impeachment trial and can not talk to you due to the pending litigation”

    • I totally agree. I had respect for him till 1-6-21.
From that day on including today, his speech in Texas. I think it would be best if he just stops this narishkiet. Very uneducated and immature decisions have been made in the last week. How truly sad. Impeachment or not. I don’t think he has a leg to stand on, running in 2024. Donald save your money.

      • Only someone who doesn’t see the entire picture can right such a silly post. Read some alternative news and you’ll be in for a surprise. You’re dealing with a genius playing 12D chess.
