Donald Trump says the FBI had a “bad day” when agents decided Orlando, Fla., mass shooter Omar Mateen wasn’t a threat after multiple interviews prior to the massacre at a gay nightclub that killed 49 people, NEWSMAX reports.

In an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” the GOP presumptive nominee called the FBI response to the gunman prior to the horrific attack was “unusual.” The FBI has said Mateen was interviewed three separate times about possible ties to terrorism, but that it was determined he wasn’t a threat.

“I think it’s very unusual, and I’m a fan of the FBI, but they had a little bit of a bad day,” Trump tells “This Week.”
