President Trump dismissed Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday following accusations of mortgage fraud.
In a letter addressed to Cook and shared publicly on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Pursuant to my authority under Article II of the Constitution of the United States and the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, as amended, you are hereby removed from your position on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, effective immediately.”
The decision came after Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte sent a criminal referral to Attorney General Pam Bondi last week, alleging that Cook falsified property documents and bank records in order to obtain more favorable loan terms.
