President Donald Trump delivered an Independence Day address honoring American veterans — hundreds of whom came from the Washington, D.C. area to attend the “Celebrate Freedom Rally” at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

“America is a land rich with heroes,” said Trump at the event, which included wounded warriors who are patients at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

During his speech, the president personally saluted World War II veteran Harry Miller for his lifelong service and wounded warrior Luis Avila. Miller enlisted in the reserves at 15, even though he was not old enough to serve. He fought in Europe and in The Battle of the Bulge. Avila, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was on a fifth deployment when he was wounded, losing his leg, during an intelligence reconnaissance mission. Read more at Fox News.

  1. Oodles of Want.

Maybe he can wear a hat before he mentions Hashem dozens of times in a speech. It might show he actually had an ounce of respect. We have a bad president.

  2. Your comment is typical of too many cloistered Yidden who are ignorant about life and customs in America. The proper etiquette in Anglo/Western tradition is to REMOVE one’s hat (if wearing one) as a sign of respect. This is done by gentiles in their churches, at funerals and cemeteries, at memorial services, during public invocations, etc. In the U.S., you are certainly aware of the fact that one removes one’s cap during the National Anthem (excepting military and other service personnel in uniform) as a sign of respect for flag and country. Even Jews should (and do) do this at sporting events (although the yarmulke stays on). Pres. Trump behaved exactly as he should have, in accord with custom and protocol.

    • I do not remove my hat during the national anthem. I noted a few gentiles did not either. I do not always wear a secondary kippah so it is not holy to remove. Christians know nothing about G-d. You are silly to think.

A political speech 100 years ago was commonly noted by respectable gentiles with a hat. Not a time to remove.

  3. Hashem is ancient. To think that a moron who has no idea how to even address a human body can call to the masses of powerful seeming christians with just the idea that he will mention G-d 10 times in a pr-ck speech can be so horrendous that anyone would fear for even our lives in a community with such very unsafe minds.

The unorthodox man has just called for school prayer at football games. This is insane human hate. There is so much going on that is good, why do we need manditory christian prayer just for the foolish children to hold and throw a football.

Are we insane? Did we even have a jewish mind that even wanted to elect this man? Fear of G-d or just hate of Toeivah.

This is so asinine that the trust in G-d is totally missed.

    • Hashem is ancient? “Ancient =very old. How can Hashem be “very old” when He exists outside of time? “Time” itself is a creation of Hashem! This opening statement of yours is as unintelligible as everything that you’ve written both before and after. But that’s okay. I’m sure that you’re otherwise harmless to others.
