President Donald Trump late Sunday night declared on Twitter, in a four-word, all caps tweet, that he “WON THE ELECTION.”
The message came after a day of speculation that he’d admitted Joe Biden had won the presidential election in a message posted earlier in the day.
His tweet was tagged by Twitter, which said that “official sources called this election differently” and added a link to a page of news sources that called the election for the former vice president.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump drew speculation with a tweet that said “he won” in a tweet, without mentioning Biden by name, because the election was “rigged.” His message drew another flag from Twitter, which said the post contained disputed election fraud claims.
