President-elect Donald Trump triggered an uproar Tuesday night after writing a mocking comment on Twitter full of disdain for the U.S. intelligence community. “The ‘Intelligence’ briefing on so-called ‘Russian hacking’ was delayed until Friday, perhaps more time needed to build a case. Very strange!” he wrote.

Members of the intelligence community were taken aback not only by the insulting tone, but also by the inaccuracy, according to reports. An NBC News report cited an intelligence official as saying the comment was “adversarial” but also flat-out wrong—that the briefing had always been planned for Friday. While Trump has had a testy relationship with members of the intelligence community—having reportedly passed up numerous briefings before and after the election—his latest dig comes weeks before he’s due to take office and days after he publicly praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is suspected to have ordered the U.S. breaches. Last week, he promised to reveal new details on Russia’s alleged election meddling, claiming to “know things that other people don’t know.” He has yet to make an announcement on the matter, though he promised to reveal whatever secrets he knows on Tuesday or Wednesday. Read more at THE HILL.
