President Donald Trump took to Truth Social late Sunday to declare that the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear targets had achieved complete destruction of the facilities.
“Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term!” wrote Trump.
He continued with a detailed description, adding, “The white structure shown is deeply imbedded [sic] into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!”
In a flurry of posts earlier that day, Trump had already praised the precision of the military campaign. “The damage to the Nuclear sites in Iran is said to be ‘monumental.’ The hits were hard and accurate. Great skill was shown by our military. Thank you!”
He also hinted that the U.S. actions could lead to a fundamental shift in Iran’s leadership. “It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!” he wrote.
Earlier Sunday, the Pentagon hosted a press briefing led by General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he spoke at length about the top-secret operation that had unfolded the previous day.
The mission, named Operation Midnight Hammer, struck three key nuclear installations deep inside Iranian territory. General Caine described the offensive as “deliberate and precise,” highlighting the seamless execution by American forces under challenging circumstances. He noted the “complex and high-risk” nature of the assignment.
Caine explained that the main goal was to significantly weaken Iran’s nuclear weapons program. He said the campaign had been coordinated across multiple sectors and regions, demonstrating the extensive capability and reach of U.S. military forces.
“Very few people in Washington knew about the timing and nature of the plan,” Caine stated.
