Retired General John Kelly, who served as the Homeland Security Secretary and White House Chief of Staff during the Trump administration, faced the consequences of criticizing former President Donald Trump firsthand on Friday.

Kelly’s remarks were made prior to Trump’s court hearing in Miami, where the former president pleaded not guilty to a 37-count federal indictment related to his handling of classified information. Kelly noted that Trump’s casual and almost celebratory demeanor in the face of his legal troubles indicated that he was deeply afraid.

“He’s compensating for his fear by adopting this approach,” Kelly shared with The Washington Post. “By doing so, he creates the illusion that he doesn’t care. For the first time in his life, it seems like he’s being held accountable.”

Kelly highlighted that until this point, Trump had been accustomed to avoiding accountability by refusing to pay debts and daring people to take legal action against him. He had never experienced being held responsible before.

In response, Trump took to Truth Social, stating that Kelly was “born with an exceptionally small ‘brain.'” Trump also claimed that when he dismissed Kelly in 2018, the retired general had become a “lifeless” figure who spent his time staring at the ceiling in his office.

“John Kelly pretended to be a ‘tough guy,'” Trump wrote. “He struggled to function in the political realm and was truly a worn-out and defeated man when I fired him.”

Trump further recalled how Kelly’s wife had once praised him, saying that “John loves you and respects you more than anyone else. He will always speak highly of you.” Trump dismissed these sentiments, expressing his disappointment.

In the past, Trump had referred to Mick Mulvaney, who succeeded Kelly as White House Chief of Staff, as “perhaps the most unintelligent person” and a “natural-born loser.” He had also labeled his former National Security Adviser, John Bolton, as “one of the dimmest individuals in Washington.” Additionally, there were reports of Trump describing former Defense Secretary James Mattis as “the most overrated general in the world.”

    • Because unlike you blind Trump supporters wanted to believe, Trump is a Manhattan liberal Bill Clinton supporter who surrounded himself with swamp creatures. He picked the wrong DOJ head. The wrong FBI chief. Trump only deepened the cesspool swamp deep state. Trump is a coward phony thru and thru. As soon as Trump won in 2016, he went into losing mode. A real loser. Let him get locked up and then we won’t have to hear any of his immature narcissistic gibberish.

  1. Donald can seem so natural. He won’t take a drink or smoke a cigar. No wonder his crossed arms stay in place.

  2. So the traitor John Kelly was obviously dealt with and replaced with an actor if Trump mocks him.
