Forty-eight hours before Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu arrives at the White House for his first meeting with President Donald Trump, HAARETZ reports that a senior Republican senator explained in an interview published on Monday how the Trump administration originally planned to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Yerushalayim on the president’s very first day in office – but then took a step back, mainly due to the possible regional implications of such a move.

Senator Bob Corker (R-TN,) the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said in an interview to Politico’s Global Podcast that Trump at one point was “ready to move the embassy at 12:01 on January 20th. Maybe even 12 and thirty seconds.” Corker added that announcing the relocation of the embassy “was going to be their first move,” but that ever since entering the White House, Trump’s team has been going through an evolution and “they get a greater sense of some of the complexities that exist.”

  1. Yes the Israeli government fears the move but they don’t fear making toeiva parades despite the objections by the Moslems. When it comes religion they are willing to antagonize Moslems and Orthodox Jews.

    • True. That’s why ignoramuses are often the loudest, most insistent protesters and bloggers who are absolutely certain that the solution to a particular problem is simple and anyone who disagrees with their viewpoint is a myopic fool. Hopefully President Trump is willing to listen and learn.

  2. POTUS Trump was wise to heed my counsel regarding not moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

(Sometimes you just have to listen to higher wisdom nu.)

The trump is known (allegedly) to deceive many. He speaks before he understands the issue. The end wil be war and the end of his presidency. Bad news for us. He will remain a billionaire though.
