Donald Trump said he “always felt that I was in the military” in a forthcoming biography, because his boarding school for troubled youth had a military theme. In reality, Trump recieved five draft deferments during the Vietnam War, including a medical one for a bone spur.
Trump bemoaned dwindling enrollment at academies like the New York Military Academy to biographer Michael D’Antonio, adding that he got “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.” Read more at The New York Times.
