President Trump on Monday accused former President Obama of “trying to take credit” for the strong economy.

The president tweeted in response to Obama’s commemorating the 11th anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, “paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.”

“He had the WEAKEST recovery since the Great Depression, despite Zero Fed Rate & MASSIVE quantitative easing. NOW, best jobs numbers ever,” Trump responded. “Had to rebuild our military, which was totally depleted. Fed Rate UP, taxes and regulations WAY DOWN.”

The Trump campaign also criticized Obama’s tweet, saying in a statement to Fox News that the economy is recovering because of Trump’s efforts, not Obama’s.

“Obama and Biden orchestrated the worst economic recovery in modern history,” Trump campaign national press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in the statement. “By contrast, though, deregulating, lowering taxes, and supporting free-market policies, President Trump has created the hottest economy on record.”

  1. That’s right obummer whatever was bad was bushes fault and whatever goes good is because of you what a narcissistic individual who one day will stand before g-d and be forced to confront all of his egotistical lies

    • Yep, that was pretty much my first though when seeing this article’s heading – Obama was blaming Bush for things that went wrong five and six years (!) into his own administration and now he’s seeking credit for good things that have happened three years after he left office.

  2. I guarantee you that when it comes time for Trump to debate the democrat nominee this will be a key topic. The Dems know this is Trump’s strong point so they’ll do anything to discredit him.

    • Who says there will be a democrat nominee? At the rate it’s going with clones and actors and sick people running as candidates, I don’t see anyone coming close to debate with Trump.

  3. Commemorating the 11th anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is like commemorating the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

  4. Obama cannot take credit for anything anymore. He’s been McCained at the end of Sept 2019.
