President Trump on Monday said “fake news” has contributed to growing “anger and rage” in the country in the wake of two mass shootings over the weekend, marking the second time he has criticized media coverage in the aftermath of a tragedy.

“The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country,” Trump tweeted. “Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!”

The president’s suggestion that press coverage is to blame came after shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio that took place within 24 hours of each other over the weekend.

Trump is set to deliver remarks at 10 a.m. Monday.

  1. Facts are that 29 innocent people died over the weekend in two incidents involving use of automatic weapons. Where fake news comes into the equation to make those skin-and-bone data more gruesome and outrageous than they really are, that’s really beyond me.

    • You can’t even keep the “fake news” out of your comment. They were not automatic weapons, and that’s where the fake news comes in. The media makes these shooters famous, and then others come and want to get fame too, so they launch their own attacks. The news organizations are thrilled because they get more money and they can spend weeks spewing lies about guns and gun owners to try to further their agenda.

  2. CNN & MSNBC has been inflaming hatred with the hope that violence would be carried out against white Republican males. There was a woman reporter who was gloating after the Las Vegas massacre saying since most of those killed were Republicans, they deserved it.

  3. President Trump, good thing you didn’t say the truth that these shootings were the Deep State’s false flags because Fake News would literally throw you off air.

  4. Mr. President, like you, most of the American public are not buying Fake News’ false shooting narrative that mainstream media outlets are trying to shove down our throats. Thank G-d for Real News out there where we can learn what really happened.

  5. A debate of automatic vs. semi-automatic is like saying that someone died of poisoning with one or one-and-a-half spoonfuls of strychnine. I am sure the relatives of the deceased will find much solace in that they were only semi-automatic weapons. BTW, the Las Vegas shooter purchased semi-automatic guns and easily transformed them into automatic. Yidden should just stick to Emes and not sing along the narratives of a country gone totally mad.

  6. Media reports that the man shot and killed by police after killing nine and injuring 27 in a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, was a member of ANTIFA, was not just a Democrat but an open socialist. He also supported gun control, would vote for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and encouraged violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He may have been a “copycat” shooter, because it also appears he was following news of the mass shooting at the Walmart in El Paso, Texas.
